Mileage Program Rules
1. Mileage Ride the following criteria must be met:
a. It must be sanctioned as a chapter ride, which includes a chapter Road Captain. For groups over 5 bikes, there must be a chapter Tail Gunner.
b. There must be at least 3 SCRC members (any chapter) at the beginning and the end of the ride.
c. A Mileage form must be signed by each member who participated in the ride.
2. Members on a ride must complete at least half of the ride in order to receive any miles for that ride.
3. All scheduled rides must be posted on the Forum at least 24 hours in advance with meeting spot, time and date of ride.
a. Anyone wishing to post a scheduled ride on the forum must plan the ride according to chapter safety procedures.
4. All rides must have a beginning and an end. The end (in most cases) will be the same as the beginning or a pre-determined ending point.
5. Regular scheduled bike events, If members meet at a weeknight event or any regular scheduled event and want to go on a ride, miles will count as long as these rides follow chapter safety procedures. These rides must also include a chapter Road Captain and if over 5 bikes a Tail Gunner.
6. One person will be assigned “Mileage Master” for each ride. That person will be assigned at the beginning of the ride and is in charge of the actual odometer mileage for that ride. The “Mileage Master” will write down their odometer reading at the beginning and end of the ride, and put it on the top of the mileage form, along with the date of the ride. The Mileage form will be sent the 1st Officer for the total mileage approval.
7. Over Night SCRC Events. If members wish to get miles for out of town events, in addition to all above rules, the mileage form must be segmented into sections of the ride. Example: First day's ride Miles or Miles to the event, and Miles from the event. If you don’t wish to break route into segments, “MS Streets and Trips” will be used to calculate your route and miles to and from the event, using the most direct route.
Lets all remember the whole reason for our Mileage Program is riding as a Group. If you wish to receive club miles you must ride with the club.
